Mud Brick Cabins - Unavailable from November 2016

A favourite for our regular weekend guests, these cabins have character from the old tin roof held up by a sturdy tree branch and an interesting collection of timbers bolted together (as if someone mis-measured the width), to the local railway sleepers used to box the concrete floor.
Mud Brick 1 is the larger room with cosy firebox, comfy lounge chairs, basic cooking facilities, dining table & chairs (and a TV). Guests are also welcome to use the neighboring Ash House kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Mud Brick 2 is next door and this hideaway includes a sink with tea/coffee making facilities, dining table with chairs and a cushioned  bench that doubles as child’s bed (or a good place for luggage).

Sleeps: Larger Mud Brick 1 sleeps a double & up to 2 singles (or 3 at a squeeze).
Smaller Mud Brick 2 next door has a double, (tea and coffee making) and table seating to double as a small bed.
Both open onto a veranda with more outdoor seating.
Tariff: $85 per double per night, $36 extra adult, $26 per child under 14
One single person $69 per night. (Limited availability during winter May-October)
Extras: $3.50 towel hire, $30 continental breakfast basket for 2 (a little extra for organic German rye bread & free range bacon or eggs)
Have a look at the B&B extras - we’re happy to extend these delicacies to all our guests.

I’ve visited the Staging Post twice, most recently in July 2015.
I keep coming back because staying at the Staging Post is therapeutic. The space and time to think, reflect and talk reenergise myself and restore my love of life that can be sapped by long working hours and city living.

Rammed Earth (Pise) Cabin - Unavailable from November 2016

In the early 1990s, Mike’s father JD morphed ideas and instructions from a library book, volunteer labour, local clay, hay and enthusiasm into this cosy replica one room rammed earth dwelling.
Modern touches like plumbing by way of a recycled wine barrel with sink, recycled floorboards, kettle, toaster (and discreetly placed TV) were added in due course. The roof has been sealed off from possums so now they only wake you up passing by, not leaving for their nocturnal nibbles (and returning before dawn).
Behind the Pise cabin is our horse drawn vehicle display set up as a mini museum.

Sleeps: 1 double & a set of bunks all made up with fresh linen.
Tariff: $85 per double per night, $36 extra adult, $26 per child under 14
One single person $69 per night. (limited availability May-October) Book now on AirBnB!
